The Anchored School combines a strong academic framework with personalized instruction. Abeka is our primary curriculum focus, while licensed, experienced guides adjust instruction based on learner knowledge, readiness, progress, and educational needs.

Abeka provides a structured academic foundation across core subject areas and offers curriculum through Grade 12. At The Anchored School, that structure is paired with hands-on work, discussion, projects, guided practice, and learner-specific support. The Texas campus currently serves K–6, with Grades 7–8 coming for the 2027–28 school year.
Placement based on readiness, not simply age.
Learners complete educational and social-emotional assessments so our team can understand current skills, knowledge, readiness, and support needs. That information helps guides place each learner in the most appropriate learning environment and adjust instruction as the learner grows.
Knowledge, discussion, practice, and application.
Learners build strong foundations in core academics while also developing communication, critical thinking, responsibility, and real-world problem-solving. Socratic discussion, hands-on projects, guided instruction, independent work, and collaborative learning are used intentionally rather than relying on one teaching method for every learner.
Technology with purpose.
The campus includes Smart TVs for instructional use, computers for programming and robotics, and computers in the school library. Technology is used when it supports a learning goal rather than becoming the center of the school day. The school is also expanding hands-on STEM resources, including robotics, 3D printing, and a science lab.

How our learning model works
What does learner-led mean at The Anchored School?
Learners are encouraged to ask questions, make thoughtful choices, participate in discussion, take responsibility for their work, and build independence. Guides still teach, direct, assess, and support. Learner-led does not mean learners are expected to teach themselves.
What is the role of a guide?
Guides are licensed, experienced educators. They observe, teach, coach, ask thoughtful questions, provide direct instruction, monitor progress, and create the conditions for meaningful learning and growth.
Are learners grouped strictly by age?
No. Learners are placed according to skills, knowledge, readiness, and individual learning needs, so each child can work at the most appropriate level.
How is placement determined?
Learners complete educational and social-emotional assessments. Our team uses that information, along with observation and learner work, to place each learner and adjust instruction as they grow.
What does Socratic learning look like?
Learners ask questions, explain their ideas, listen to others, evaluate reasoning, and communicate their thinking clearly through guided discussion.
Why does hands-on learning matter?
Projects, experiments, and real-world tasks help learners connect subjects, apply what they know, and build curiosity, confidence, and practical skills.
How is technology used?
